One fish, two fish. Red fish, blue fish. Nope, Seven Fish. A
recent road trip to Key West for a friends wedding landed us in Seven Fish for
an intimidate dinner off of the busy, touristy streets of Duval. Seven Fish
joins two old town streets and claims to be Key West’s hometown bistro. Their
style is comfort food that includes fresh, local fish.
After having a late lunch/snack I wasn’t exceptionally
hungry so I enjoyed a mixed greens salad and the seafood ceviche starter as my
meal. My dining partners all ordered one of the dinner specials of fish. They
looked amazing and the samples I had were on point. The meals must have been
legit as it led my buddy Kevin profoundly remark, “good food doesn’t suck.” Truer
words have never been said my friend.
While dinner was great, and yes – I was “full.” There is
always room for dessert (and I don’t mean Jell-O). As a table we decide to
split the Banana Flambé and the Strawberry Whipped Cream Pie with chocolate
graham cracker crust. Oh yea! That pie was unbelievable. The crust had toasted
walnuts mixed in with the graham crackers, and they topped it with a layer of
chocolate that was like a chocolate bar surprise. The filling of fresh
strawberries, dressed with whipped cream - I was full no more and fighting for
a lion share of the sweet treats. The Banana Flambé was equally as tasty with
ooey gooey brown; butter sauce and vanilla ice cream.

This place was awesome! I'm glad you wrote about it. HAHA YES! Good food does not suck!
